UN 'disgusted and horrified' by air strikes on Syria aid convoy
UN chief Stephen O'Brien has said he was "disgusted and horrified" after aid trucks were hit by airstrikes near Aleppo, as the week-long ceasefire ended.
The attack left 12 people dead. The convoy was delivering aid for 78,000 people.
It comes after the US-led coalition was accused of hitting a Syrian military base during an air strike killing at least 62 soldiers. British forces were involved in the strike, the Ministry of Defence confirmed.
The US has expressed "outrage" at the bombing of an aid convoy near Aleppo in Syria and said it will reassess future cooperation with Russia.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement that Washington would raise the issue of the attack directly with Moscow.
The destination of this convoy was known to the Syrian regime and the Russian federation and yet these aid workers were killed in their attempt to provide relief to the Syrian people.
The United States will raise this issue directly with Russia.
Given the egregious violation of the Cessation of Hostilities we will reassess the future prospects for cooperation with Russia.
