International reserves decrease $ 60 million dollars

After the January 3, international reserves of the country reported a historic high, in the week ended Jan. 10 declined $ 60 million, so the balance stood at 176 billion 526 million dollars.

The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) reports in its weekly newsletter about your statement that the country's international reserves had accumulated growth of five billion dollars compared to the end of 2013.

In announcing the preliminary balance of the statement says that the weekly reduction of international reserves in the aforementioned period was mainly the change in the valuation of foreign assets of the central institute.

Meanwhile, the monetary base (currency and bank deposits in current account at the Bank of Mexico) decreased 28 thousand 616 million pesos, according to a seasonal pattern, reaching a total of 478 million 884 thousand pesos.

For the week ending 10 January, the central bank open market operations conducted with banks to offset a net expansion of liquidity by 58 thousand 410 million pesos.

Indicates that this was a result of the withdrawal of funds from the account of the Federal Treasury and other operations by 29 thousand 794 million pesos, as well as lower demand for banknotes and coins by the public for 28 thousand 616 million pesos .
