Only ten days after assuming the presidency of the Republic, the government of President Felipe Calderón launched a security strategy in one of the states affected by violence. The interior minister, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, denied that the security strategy implemented in the state of Michoacan was equal to the Joint Operation Michoacan launched by former President Felipe Calderon at the beginning of his term.
